ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Proposal Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing technical and commercial proposals in the field of cooling towers for various industries, including power plants, chemical, petrochemical, and fertilizers.
Your clients will be EPC contractors operating across France, Benelux, the Middle East, Africa, India, Japan, Caucasus, and more. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an international and technical environment, requiring a strong ability to manage projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
If you have experience in cooling towers, air-cooled condensers, air coolers, or thermal equipment, IT will be a valuable asset.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Technical & Commercial Proposal Development : Work closely with internal teams to analyze tender documents, define technical solutions, and prepare cost-effective proposals.
- Thermal Engineering & Product Selection : Train in cooling tower thermal processes to independently design solutions and collaborate with thermal experts when needed.
- Cross-Functional Coordination : Synchronize efforts with sales managers, design offices, procurement, structural engineers, and other key departments.
- Cost Optimization & Pricing : Optimize cost sheets by leveraging supplier support, sourcing strategies, and internal expertise.
- Proposal Management : Lead the proposal phase as a project manager, ensuring that technical feasibility, risk assessment, and scheduling align with project goals.
- Negotiation Support : Assist the sales team in clarifying bids and supporting negotiations until contract signature.
- Continuous Improvement : Improve proposal tools, technical documentation, and bidding processes.
- Project Handover : Transfer awarded projects to the execution team and provide initial support to ensure smooth implementation.
Le profil recherché
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Engineering degree (Master's level) with 5-10 years of experience in engineering, proposals, or project management.
- Background in thermal, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineering is highly desirable.
- Experience managing large private and public tenders.
- Strong ability to optimize technical designs and pricing to enhance project competitiveness.
- Experience working in a multicultural and cross-functional environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Client-oriented mindset with strong analytical and negotiation support skills.
- Fluent in professional English (French or Arabic is a plus).
Willingness to travel occasionally (2-5 times per year for short trips).
