As the Operations Manager, you will lead global operations within your field, overseeing Safety, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Industrial projects, along with managing a team of approximately 100 indirect reports. Your mission is to propose and implement innovative industrial strategies that drive sustainable growth and align with our broader corporate goals.
In this pivotal role, you will BE a key contributor to the SBU Operations team, shaping corporate strategy, policy, and decision-making.
Responsibilities
As such your key missions are :
- Responsible for fostering a culture of safety and sustainable development in both daily operations and projects. You translate corporate strategy into strategic planning for capacities and capabilities, ensuring alignment with business needs. By collaborating with Category Managers, you propose developments in research and innovation, investments, and supply chain adjustments to meet business plans.
- Stimulate collaboration with suppliers and tollers to generate savings and drive innovation. You oversee day-to-day operations to maintain high service levels and ensure the efficiency of the SIOP process. Improving customer satisfaction through on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery, managing customer claims, and implementing corrective and preventive quality actions are key priorities.
- Ensure the successful implementation of industrial projects and optimize global capital expenditures (capex), operational expenditures (opex), and the environmental footprint of the industrial network. You drive both short-term optimization and long-term innovation to enhance competitiveness, process safety, product quality, and environmental impact.
- Risk management is a critical aspect of the role, involving the development and implementation of controls and processes to identify and manage operational risks effectively. You are accountable for team engagement, training, and development, fostering collaboration and maintaining open communication.
- Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and metrics, defining and implementing improvement plans as needed. Additionally, you assist the M&A team when required and may manage some common operational processes.
Qualifications
Profile required
- High-level leadership in a similar sector and significant Board/senior management experience in the industrial sector with proven track record in business planning, performance management, and successful project execution
- Experience translating strategic goals into operational plans and leading change programs
- Collaborative work experience and effective partnership building
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication abilities
- Knowledge of industry legal rules and diverse business functions (supply chain, manufacturing, project management, finance)
- Understanding of customer needs and operation
- Strong analytical skills for complex decision-making and ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
- Empathy and ability to involve colleagues and customers in decisions
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics
- Fluency in English; French and Spanish are a plus
